03- ONE WORD SUBSTITUTION

1.Shortening= A shortening is an abbreviation in which the beginning or end of the word has been omitted./ शुरू का या अंत का या बीच का एक हिस्सा ही पूरे शब्द को रिप्रेजेंट करता है! e.g. Corp., Prof., Zoo, Flu etc. (Shortening is one of the four types of abbreviation.)

2.Contraction= Contractions are abbreviations in which we omit letters from the middle of a word/ कहीं से कोई भी letters मिल कर एक नया term बनाते हैं!  e.g. dept., st., mfg., govt. etc. (Contraction is one of the four types of abbreviation.)

3.Initialism= This abbreviation is formed from the first letters of the words. Initialisms are abbreviations that are pronounced one letter at a time./शब्दों के पहले अक्षरों से बनता है! लेकिन शब्द की तरह उच्चारण नहीं होता है! e.g. BBC, MP, CEO, NSA, PTO etc. (Initialism is one of the four types of abbreviation.)
